Abstract

The scale of gonadal maturity of fine flounder Paralichthys adspersus, made based on histological analysis and processing 96 ovaries and 66 testes of fish caught in the central coast of Peru and held in captivity is presented. The ovaries were classified as micro and macroscopically, taking into account the development of gametes and gonads: inmature, in maturation, mature, spawning, recovery and inactive; and testes in: Immature, maturing, mature, expulsion, post-expulsion and inactive. Comparison of macro and microscopic gonads of fish in captivity characteristics showed no difference from the gonads of fish in their natural environment.
