Abstract

Marine Biotic Index (AMBI) and its multivariate version M-AMBI are tools developed to assess the health condition of coastal marine ecosystems using information from soft-bottom macrobenthos. Along five chapters, it is presented a description of the AMBI (Chapter 1), considerations for the calibration (Chapter 2), step-bystep instructions to estimate (Chapter 3) and interpret (Chapter 4) the AMBI and M-AMBI at central and south coast of Peru, and suggestions for the correct application and interpretation (Chapter 5).
