Abstract

This paper analyzes the distribution and Spatio-temporal abundance of cephalopod paralarvae in the Peruvian sea between 1980 and 2014, from samples taken by Imarpe in the superficial layer of 50 meters. Paralarvae show an increase in frequency and abundance after the 1990s when there is also an increase in both relative abundance and frequency of occurrence. Likewise, there is a relationship between the increases in the frequency of occurrence of paralarvae with the landings of the jumbo flying squid resource (Dosidicus gigas).
