Abstract

The overall objective of the Project was to analyze, describe, and conceptualize the nyctimeral behavior and/or distribution of the main species of the pelagic community of the CCAMLR 48.1 Antarctic sub-area ecosystem in relation to primary production, the presence of predators, and physical and chemical conditions in the water column. To this end, a multidisciplinary research cruise was conducted in the Bransfield Strait and around Elephant Island during January 2006.
