Aspects of jumbo flying squid (Dosidicus gigas) fisheries management and climate variability in Peru

A brief chronology of the main fisheries management rules of jumbo flying squid fishery is described, for the last 30 years. From a biological point of view, comments are made on how the behavior response of this species, to the characteristic climate variability of the Peru’s Current system, mainly ENSO, has marked the evolution of the fisheries management system of this Peruvian fishery.
